Tournament Preview: July 7th – 9th

The summer is in full swing, and July is looking like one jam-packed month in the world of ball hockey. With over fifteen tournaments coming up over the next three weeks alone, this summer is going to be an exciting season for any ball hockey enthusiast. We know that keeping up on all the action can be difficult, especially with multiple tournaments happening over the same weekend. To help make things a little easier, we’ve prepared a brief preview breaking down the first five tournaments of the month happening over July 7th-9th.

OBHF Peewee, Bantam & Junior Provincials

The first tournament taking place over this weekend is the Ontario Ball Hockey Federation (OBHF) Peewee, Bantam & Junior Provincials. This tournament will run all the way from Friday the 7th to Sunday the 9th, and will be held at the Central, Mountainside, and Aldershot arenas in Burlington, ON. Those interested and in the area should certainly make their way down to check out some ball hockey being played by young up-and-comers. Those unable to attend will still be able to check the games’ standings right here.

OBHF Girls U10, U12, U14, U17 Provincials

The OBHF Girls Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, and Under 17 Provincials will also be taking place from Friday July 7th through the 9th. These tournaments will be held at the Milton Sports Center A and Milton Sports Center B in Milton, ON. Standings for the games over the weekend can be found right here.

OBHA Provincials – Tyke & Novice/Bantam & Junior

Two more provincial tournaments will be taking place this weekend, as the Tyke & Novice, and the Bantam & Junior divisions of the Ontario Ball Hockey Association (OBHA) square off in Belleville, ON. claims that the provincials “[have] undoubtedly become the showcase event of the OBHA as the best clubs from tyke to junior age players throughout Ontario participate in a weekend long festival of ball hockey.” These tournaments promise to be two exciting events, and those interested can find more information about the provincials here.

Gateway to the 2017 World Ball Hockey Championships

The final event that’ll be taking place over the weekend of July 7th-July 9th is the Gateway to the 2017 World Ball Hockey Championships. This tournament will include Men’s B/C, Men’s over 35, Women’s, and Co-Ed divisions. First prize in the tournament is a full entry to the 2017 WorldOutdoor Ball Hockey Championships (WOBHC) and a set of shirts. Second place includes the set of shirts and a half entry to the WOBHC. With full entry to a major tournament at stake, you can bet that these teams will be bringing their A games. This month is going to be huge for ball hockey fanatics, and it’s great to see it kick off with so many tournaments this early on.
