Tournament Preview – August 25 – 27

It’s the last weekend of August, and we’re finding ourselves asking, “where did the summer go?” When there are so many awesome tournaments going on from this year’s huge Walter Gretzky Street Hockey Tournament (WGSHT) to the excitement of following BHi’s Great Britain Heritage Team at the World Ball Hockey Federation’s (WBHF) Championship in the Czech Republic, the summer has a tendency to run right by. Like they say, time flies when you’re having fun, and we’ve certainly been having fun with all the activity that’s taken place over the last few months. As a send off to the final weekend of August, we have two big tournaments to watch out for, and we’re here to give you the run down on what to expect from them.

All Ontario Cup – OBHA Summer Provincials

First up is the All Ontario Cup (AOC) – Ontario Ball Hockey Association (OBHA) Summer Provincials Sponsored by Bauer. This tournament will be taking place in Kitchener and Cambridge, Ontario from August 25th through the 27th at the Dickson and McIntosh arenas. The tournament will see teams across Men’s B, C, D, & E divisions, and will be a heated weekend as teams like the London Throwbacks and Toronto Titans face off. Stick Skillz will be at the McIntosh arena at 200 Christopher Dr. in Cambridge, so feel free to come out, catch some ball hockey, and stop by the tent to peruse our selection of awesome, custom made apparel! We’ll be doing mock-ups of your jersey ideas, and will have special offers for orders made at the tournament!

OBHF Men’s C and Master’s +31 Provincials

The second tournament to watch out for this weekend is the Ontario Ball Hockey Federation (OBHF) Men’s C and Masters +31 Provincials being held in Burlington, Ontario. The tournament will run from August 25th to the 27th, and is stacking up to be an exciting weekend long event. Scores and standings from the event can be found right here, for you to follow along if you’re unable to make the tournament in person.

As August comes to a close, it’s comforting to see ball hockey tournaments going strong. We can’t wait to check out some games in Cambridge this weekend, and hope to see you there!
