Over July 6th to 12th Sheffield, England played host to the International Street & Ball Hockey Federation (ISHBF) Junior World Championship of ball hockey. With 18 teams competing across 3 divisions there were teams representing Canada, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Slovakia, Switzerland and USA. The tournament showcased some of the best young ball hockey players in the U16, U18 and U20 age groups.
Canada and Slovakia established themselves as powerhouses in all 3 divisions as all of the Championship games included their team entries. Slovakia topped the Canadians in the U20 division but Canada took home titles in both the U18 and U16 divisions.
Stick Skillz contributor, Jake Archambault, played for the U20 Great Britain team who finished 6th in the tournament. Jake tallied 3 goals and 29 penalty minutes during 5 tournament games and was named to the tournament All-Star team as a Defenceman.
